How has your new year been going? January seemed like the longest month EVER! But February is off to a bang because I can’t believe it is already Valentine’s Day and Ash Wednesday. This post is a little different because it is more of just a ‘chit chat’ to fill you in on whats been going on lately! I was trying to be creative with the title but I don’t know if it is just cheesy or not 🙂
Things with school have been absolutely crazy (as usual!). It wouldn’t be so stressful, but I have been working on my resume/job applications like a maniac and it’s making me lose my mind! I find myself already asking ‘how many weeks until spring break??’ because I could use the week off! I am currently sitting in Starbucks studying for a critical care exam tomorrow and I am quickly losing my motivation to study. Personally I am not the biggest fan of learning about things related to the heart and that is the content for this exam. **At this point I have now taken the exam and it was fine! Much better than what I was expecting!**
I have been on a new workout regimen since I was home over Christmas break, so I started in early January. I used to never lift weights or anything, but my brother showed me a few things so now I feel more comfortable doing it on my own. I usually go to the gym 6-7 days a week. I always do at least 20-30 minutes of cardio (whether that is the treadmill, intervals, the stair stepper, or the elliptical) and then alternate between arms and legs. I try to do abs every other day or so. I have really been liking the structure it gives my schedule. I now plan my day around when I will work out instead of trying to fit it into my schedule. I have also been trying to eat healthier to compliment what I am doing in the gym. Not going to lie, this past Friday and Saturday were cheat days! I went to a Galentine’s Day party on Friday and definitely had a few treats and then had some of the leftover treats Saturday! Time to get back on track! I think I need to add more protein into my diet to keep me fuller, so I am on the hunt for some new ways to prepare meat because I am not the biggest meat eater. I am planning on making a post about some of favorite and easy recipes!
I think for Lent this year I am going to attempt to reply to all of my text message within 10 minutes of receiving them… Holy moly! For anyone who knows me well, will know that this will be incredibly challenging for me! I am not a texter to say the least! The only exceptions I am allowing myself are if I am in class or clinical where I cannot reply. I am thinking if I need to add something else to do or give up, but I’m not sure yet… any suggestions?
I just finished the 3rd season of How to Get Away With Murder and OMG! I want more! Sadly I’ll have to wait for the 4th season to come to Netflix because I can’t find it online anywhere! I guess I’ll just stick with my usual Riverdale and The Office until then. My roommates have been watching the Insidious movies and trying to get me to watch it with them. I end up screaming within the first 2 minutes into the movie and then spending the rest of the time plugging my ears and covering my eyes, so I don’t think it’s my cup of tea! I really want to see the Greatest Showman, partially because I’ve heard how amazing it is, but mainly because I am a sucker for Zac Efron 🙂 He can do no wrong in my eyes!
Well that is my quick update on my life! If I can make it to Tuesday, then I’ll make it through the week! Have a happy Valentine’s Day, whether you’re celebrating with a romantic date, or hanging with some gal pals!
